What 15 Days Of Thinking "What Can I Do" Produces

Well Hello Everyone! I like many other individuals have been touched by an Angel on Earth named Lundy Adcock. Growing up she was Mrs. Lundy, she was my second mom like so many others. She felt more like a mentor and a gentle guidance counselor or a best friend then she did a mother. She is/was a shoulder to cry on, a ear to talk off, a sounding board for good and bad ideas, a cheerleader, a creative and passionate beautiful woman.

She was recently given the news that would change her life and the rest of the Adcock's lives indefinitely. She has Leukemia. It even feels surreal to type it out, She has a awful nasty disease that most of us like to think won't happen to such a beautiful person such as Mrs. Lundy. As I have told her and her immediate family, if any one is equip to beat this it is her. She is tenacious, head strong, and won't stand for something awful to stand in between her and her beautiful future that she has to look forward to.

I haven't been able to find peace with this happening to someone so dear to my heart, and just sit back and not get involved. 15 days led me to a solution to help Mrs. Lundy and her family. I know that they do not have health insurance and I also know that they are a single income family. If you put those two together you can only imagine that they are going to need every bit of assistance that they can get. On the flip side of that I also know they are a close tight knit family and probably don't want to ask for help. That is where I believe we have a duty as friends and as family, and friends of friends, and friends of family, and a community to chip in and do something.

I have been in touch with a local distributor that sells a high quality sheet at a deeply discounted rate. If I have done my math right 42.5% of the sheet sales would go directly to the Adcock Family to be used for medical expenses, living expenses, or whatever they need during this time of upheaval. I can't do this by myself, although just by word of mouth and emailing my contacts in my database I have received 15 sheet orders to start a little nest egg for us to build on.

At the top of this page there are other pages, see the Sheet Order Details Page for instructions on how to purchase a sheet set.

  1. Jessica, Thank you so much! This is a great idea and I will order sheets as soon as you post the information. Lundy is a terrific lady whom I loved the first time I met her! We are so glad our son married Laney! He fell in love with the whole family and we did too. Sue

  2. My sweet Jess, I'm overwhelmed with what you are doing for my family. You are an amazing girl, but I have always told you that since you were 8 years old. I knew what kind of person you would grow up to be the very first time I saw you dressed in gold looking like Cleopatra! :) Beautiful and AMAZING! And my little girl's bestest friend. Words will never be able to express the feelings you have made me feel. I love you ANGEL.

  3. Hey Sue,

She is such an angel, and I know that she will pull through this! We all love her and the entire family dearly! I am glad Nathan and Laney are the perfect pair; in fact that is why we chose them for Liam's Godparents.

There is a tab at the top of this blog...kind of hard to see (sorry about that). It is called sheet order details. You should be able to find sheet information on that page. You can always email me as well. Jessica.hertel@yahoo.com or call 251-504-7554

    Blessings,
    Jessica

  4. Don't make me cry Mrs. Lundy... I am glad you’re staying strong. I am thankful that you are in my life and have made such a deep impression on me that God has let me give back in a small way.

By the way I am very impressed that you remember my Halloween costume from that long ago when you took Laney, Lindsey, and I trick or treating and then helped us camp out in Laney's room with a tent and all the paraphernalia. Good Times! I can't wait for those to continue :)

Thank you for your love, support, thoughts and prayers, as we gain most of our strength and courage from this.
